I had the pleasure of visiting the National Trust site at the historic Standen House and Gardens yesterday. The lovely old country house was the home of the Beale family and is famous for it’s Morris and Co. designs and Arts and Crafts interiors. At this time of year, the gardens were put to bed so did not show their magnificent colors and designs which will emerge next spring.
We enjoyed our extensive tour of the home where I took many photos which will used as inspiration for future textile pieces. The south east England embroiders guilds are holding an exhibition in the home early next year which I will be part of. Enjoy the pictures and wait to see which ones emerge as my textile art.
