A day to turn Blue

posted in: Blog | 1

On September 18th, I spent a glorious sunny day dying shibori with my friend, Anni Hunt at her home. We mucked into the synthetic and original indigo dyes turning ourselves and many pieces of cloth a lovely blue colour. I over dyed an old piece of garment which my late mother owned and will make it into a wall hanging for my niece Claire. It will be a nice memory for her.

Looks like fun … this late summer weather has been ideal to play with indigo. My naturally fermented vat is finally working nicely – stinky but giving lovely dark blues.
Please show a pic of your finished items, too –
